Wheeler Family Session
May 31, 2011
My friend Amy and I go pretty far back. From sleepovers at her house, to writing secret notes to each other completely backwards. I was so happy to take family pictures for her and her cute as heck family. Can I tell you too, that Amy is super talented?! After picking out outfits for herself, husband, and son, she made the dress for her daughter the night before… and it is super cute!! I couldn’t believe it! One more thing, these kids were awesome little models!!!
Two weeks before the tornado hit, the Wheeler family and I got together for a family session in their hometown of Joplin. So so glad to report that they are all okay and their home survived as well. Unfortunately, much of the devastation left from this storm surrounds them. So many aspects of their lives have been impacted by this tragedy.
Please keep Joplin in your hearts and in your prayers.

Ashley and Johnny {the wedding}
May 31, 2011
I absolutely love my clients!
Meet Ashley and Johnny. I met these two a few months shy of a year ago. They had a bad experience with the first photographer they worked with on engagement pictures and were so very excited to work with me. The enthusiasm has never faded. We had an engagement session a few months later and a bridal session in April. In these months and through these sessions, I’ve learned more about them and shared in their excitement for the big day. Throughout all this, Ashley would send me frequent text and Facebook messages letting me know how her planning was going and asking my opinion about wedding day details. I loved this! By the time their girls walked down the aisle, I was ready and super excited for these two. Ashley got pretty choked up throughout the day, putting her dress on, hugging her mom, reading her vows, and dancing with her dad. It was so special and beautiful and I know these guys just got back from their honeymoon and are still feeling that wedding day high! Way to go Ashley and Johnny! I hope you enjoy these photos:
Ashley and Johnny {Teaser}
May 24, 2011
Hey everyone! I am headed out of country in the morning and just have a little time to share some from Ashley and Johnny’s wedding….
If these guys look incredibly happy, that’s cuz they are!
If this day looks beautiful and perfect, that’s cuz it was!
If you would like to see so much more, check back next Tuesday.
Bechdoldt Family
May 24, 2011
I don’t really shoot family portraits these days, I do make exceptions for past clients and my own family. I’m so glad I do make that exception and I hope my former clients take me up on it. I love getting a chance to catch up. Last year, I had a family session with this young family and Brooklyn was only a few weeks in her momma’s tummy. It was pretty special to meet this new addition to the Bechdoldt family and see how much older sister, Kailee had grown. I look forward to meeting these guys for another session in the future!
Daniel and Shyanne are married!
May 24, 2011
These two special people were married Friday afternoon at the gorgeous Saint Louis Missouri LDS Temple. Once again and not the only time this weekend, we managed to avoid all bad weather that had been previously forecasted to have the perfect amount of sunlight for some stunning once in a lifetime wedding photos. Here’s a taste (more to come later):
Melissa and Aaron
May 17, 2011
Who says you can’t find true love online? Melissa and Aaron met a couple of years ago via Facebook and are so close. They are getting married this August in Nauvoo, Illinois. Should be some super sweet pictures then, so be sure to stay tuned!
There are two times a day that photographers dub “the golden hour”, one is before sunset and the other is right after sunrise. Usually I prefer the sunset one for obvious reasons (it’s a little hard to be up and “on” by sunrise). But this time we went out early on a foggy morning and I was loving the yummy golden light through all the fog and dew. Definitely worth the early alarm clock! Take a look:
Kelly and Kyle got married! pt II

So last Tuesday, I promised to show you complete highlights from Kelly and Kyle’s beautiful wedding in Neosho over a week ago. And today, I’m gonna deliver on that promise! Everything about their wedding day went perfectly! This was during the downpours of rain we were getting in this part of the country and just like it was all meant to be, the sky was beautiful as soon as the bridal party got to the church and for the rest of the day! So, here are the promised pictures of this perfect couple on their perfect day:
