Faithful Friends {pt. 4}

October 2, 2010

Not everyone that came to the fundraiser had pets to bring.  I was asked if I would be willing to do portraits of their kids so they could participate in helping the Faithful Friends organization of Neosho.  Of course!  I got some great pictures of those cuties!  Have a look:

The event was a success!  We had a great turnout!  The dogs and humans were excellent subjects!  I’m so excited about the good we can do for the Faithful Friends organization.  They are still working on raising enough money to open a much-needed no kill shelter in Neosho.  Right now, the biggest need animals have is a good foster home and those are getting packed.  The organization doesn’t have a lot of trouble placing abused and abandoned dogs in great homes, but they need a place to stay in the meantime, that’s why this shelter is so important!  Otherwise, the nearest shelter is a kill shelter.  Sad sad.

Anyway, here are some of the furry friends that showed up for portraits!  So many more to share in the coming days, but this is a great start:

Hey everyone!  Happy Labor Day and thanks for reading my blog!

I just wanted to quickly remind you today of the fundraiser coming up to benefit the Faithful Friends organization.  For a refresher look at this earlier post.

I would really like to make this event a success.  It is designed as a chance to get professional pics of your beloved family pet.  However, since I still have room for more mini sessions, I would like you to know that the session can really be anything you would like it to be.  Need a new family portrait?  Pictures of your kids? Head shot for your work?  You name it, it is okay.  I would like you to contact me very soon, so that I can reserve your spot and let you know when you need to show up.

As a reminder: the portrait session itself is free.  I will be uploading the finished pictures to my website for ordering afterward.  100% of the profits from those orders goes to the Faithful Friends organization.

Also, if you can’t make it and would like to donate, call me as well.  I will give you the information you need to help.

So many animals lives have been saved already from this awesome organization.  Imagine how many more we can help save together!

Faithful Friends is a great organization in Neosho building a no-kill shelter for animals.  Paul and I got involved in the organization last year when we fostered this adorable dog we called “Roxy”

We don’t know exactly what she had been through, but the vet thought she had been used for breeding.  She’s a french mastif and her puppies go for about $800.  She’d obviously had a ton of litters in her maybe 9 years.  The vet said she probably wasn’t useful to the owners anymore, so she was dumped and left to starve.  When we got her she was about 75 pounds – 25 under weight.  She was an amazing dog!  Roxy was adopted within 2 months and went to a fabulous home.

The Faithful Friends organization wants to provide shelter and nutrition to all Neosho area abused animals until they can be adopted.

I’ll be in Neosho on the 18th of September to shoot a fabulous country wedding.  Since I feel like Faithful Friends is such an amazing cause, I am partnering with them next month for a fundraiser.  Here’s what it’s all about:

On September 17th and 19th you have the opportunity to get some professional pictures of your special pet at Big Spring park.  There is no session fee, but a donation is recommended.  Prints and merchandise will be available online for purchase after.  100% of the profit from these pictures will be given to help Faithful Friends of Neosho.

I just had one of these mini-sessions with my new cutie-pie neighbor, Grace, and her doggie, Evie.  Here is a sampling of what you get…

{It can just be pictures of your pet, kids not necessary}

2010 Prom Flashback!

July 7, 2010

A month or so ago, I got a call from local make-up artist Katie Snow.  We decided we would try to do some work together, and after going back and forth several times with ideas, we came up with this awesome event.

This is for girls who attended the 2010 Prom.  It’s gonna be one epic girls night out.  You get to put your beautiful dress back on for one last time.  Katie will be doing free makeovers.  The stylists at the new downtown salon, Cruiser’s, will be doing free up-do’s.  I will be giving free portrait sessions either downtown or in Big Spring park.  All of that is free!  We’ll have snacks, games, music you name it!  It is on the evening of August 2nd and if you register you get more details.  The space is limited however, so please let us know you plan on coming soon.

 You can rsvp one of 3 ways:

  • Go to the event page on Facebook and click “attending” on the right side.
  • Send me an email: jillianfarnsworth@yahoo.com
  • Give me a call/text: 417-389-7226

Make sure all of your besties will be there with you, tell them to register too!

WEBSITE

June 2, 2010

Okay, so I have been working on and off for weeks on getting a website running.  I’m quite a perfectionist and still have some stuff to add/change, (for example my wedding and bridal galleries are lacking, but will be full by next week) but I think I’m ready for the world to see it, so here it is:

Please let me know what you think.
